10/28/2008 The NVIDIA nForce and AMD Radeon Take GPUs in Two Different Directions
AMD must have been looking at that prime $100-$150 market niche for a little while, as the new Radeon HD 4830 graphics card makes a very snug fit. NVIDIA is looking in the other direction, introducing a GeForce 9 series integrated graphics platform, but also thrusting it into a maelstrom of sub-$50 dedicated video cards.

AMD already has a stranglehold on the high-end, mainstream and entry-level video card markets, but that doesn't seem to be enough, and the entry-entry-level Radeon HD 4350 and 4550 take us below the $50 mark. These two new members of AMD's GPU family may not take the gaming crowd by storm, but these do have value in SFF and HTPC environments.

Deciding which mid-tower case to buy can be a harrowing experience, if only due to the sheer number of available options. NZXT is looking to make that choice a bit easier, and the company offers a few very interesting options in their Crafted Series of system enclosures. One of the most popular is the Tempest, which features an array of 120mm and 140mm cooling fans, and NZXT promotes as the Airflow King.
