It`s ok
I have used this on and off, always trying something new but the results are the same, too slow, too many errors, etc... it's good for a free software and a great alternative to nothing. I don't particularly care for it though, just isn't solid enough for me. It ranks up there with some other freebies but nothing on my #1 list for sure. I would choose something else personally if you don't have the $$ to create coasters every so often. The interface is alright but one major issue that I noticed, I have a hard time getting disks burned using DeepBurner to read afterward. Mainly data disks. Same with some others.

Glacial
I tried DeepBurner, but found it to run glacially slow compared to a commercial software. Takes at least four times as long. I won't be using it, free or not.

Does the job with no fuss
I've tested this program burning disk images (iso files), audio (mp3 to CD), regular data CDs and data DVDs. I tested with HP and LiteOn burners. It prints CD labels and there is a function to create an image including a bootable one. I did not try these. For what it does, it's faster and easier than Nero in my opinion. In burning mp3's to audio, it's more reliable than the WMP Nero 7 plug-in (I burned some variable-bit-rate encoded mp3's with the Nero plug-in and got a lot of "skips" -- DeepBurner was flawless on the same media). The program does not have some extras of commercial programs such as audio normalization or video tools. Also, you apparently must have administrative privileges to use the program. The interface feels amateurish but is functional; on the burn dialog, I had to expand the window to see the Burn button. Though I have a paid version of Nero, I prefer DeepBurner for most of my CD and DVD burning.

Nice.
I needed an app to burn an .iso image to disk...and all I can say is that I was very pleased with this program...installation was a breeze, burning was quick and painless, and it worked with my off brand cheapo optical drive. I can see why some people didn't like the GUI, but I thought everything was laid out just fine, with ease of use in mind. Definitely worth the download.

Look no further !
This program is the BEST freeware Disc Burning Software available on the internet ever ! I have an external DVD Burner which I wasn't sure would work with it, but sure enough gives you the option of which drive to use. Simple, Easy, and FAST ! It even converts wav files to MP3's when burning an audio cd. FIVE STARS for Perfection !

An excellent program that does what is says
As previous statements, I have used a number of CD/DVD burners, especially Nero 6 and 7. I have found DeepBurner to sizzle my CDs flawlessly. I just purchased DB Pro that works with Video DVD as well as it does a professional job without software conflicts or buggy actions. A great program. Once you try the free edition, you will whip out the cash for the pro version.

Excellent, but missing a scrollbar
It did what i wanted to do, burning a CD from iso image. First i could not find any way to choose the file I wanted to burn. This was because the ISO - window was too small and no scrollbar indicated that there are more infos on it. At least the helpfile gave me the hint I needed. Then it worked amazingly!

Finally one that works!!
After trying four different cd burning programs I finally found one that works!! The other one on this site gave me error messages every time I tried to burn a cd. I had already downloaded 2 other programs before that one trying to burn my mp3's onto cd's. Then I tried this. Success!! No more error messages. No more coasters. I recommend this program highly.

I have never had a problem, as I did with the software that came with my CD Writer. I took advantage of the autostart, again not available with my CDW Software. Works every time. Works far faster than before. Interface was easy, drag and drop. I recommend this strongly.

Excellent application
Have used ... before, and frankly prefer this application to that bloated piece of software. Just got a new DVD burner to archive my movies, and spent an afternoon burning almost 50 DVD+R (4.7GB) discs at 16x speed. Deepburner got the job done with no coasters at maximum speed. It took about 7 minutes per disc (approx 90% disc utilization).

Good burner but with issues
Very good application overall but have one major issue for me: if you have daemon tools installed, DeepBurner does not see your real CD/DVD drive, only daemon tools created virtual drive is seen. For me it is a showstopper.

Does what it says
This is the first time I've written a review of freeware. I needed to burn a data CD and the license of BurnQuick had expired. So I went in search of a freeware burner. I downloaded Deep Burner and within minutes had my CD. It's quick and easy and does what it says, including ejecting the CD when it was done.

Excellent...
Upon launching DeepBurner, I quickly discovered the interface to be familiar and welcoming. It's designed to be immediately usable by anyone that's even remotely used to Nero (like myself, having used it twice). The ISO burning feature, being the main reason I downloaded this tool, is simple and presents you with a Wizard interface that leaves you burning in three simple steps. My only gripe about this program is that, when the burning completed, the software did not eject the disc. When I tried to eject it myself, the drive refused to open. Surely this is a simple bug involving the software releasing the drive when burning is complete. All I did was eject the disk after a reboot. This may be a problem for individuals that do not wish to restart their machine every burn though. If the developers were to fix this one bug, I would gladly give the software a perfect score. Highly recommended as a free ... alternative.

You dont get better than this
Not knowing where to begin I will just say WOW. I have been using Nero to make my data dvds and it takes over two hours to burn one with Nero. And the finished DVDs are a pain in the *** to read. Have to insert and remove them several times to get either of my dvd drives to read them. And even then the drives strain hard to read or transfer from them. I went on a crusade to find a program I could make an ISO of the files before burning and found DeepBurner for a better price than I expected. (Free I tell you, free). It is easy to use, the help file is great, and the best part is it took > 20 minutes to create the ISO of 25,6xx files and 10 to burn it instead of over two hours. And the finished DVD when inserted into the DVD drive just spun right up and is as fast to browse as my hard drives are. I am so happy I think I may order the PRO version of DeepBurner as my thank you to the creator of this GREAT free ISO maker/CD/DVD burner. Try it, you REALLY cant go wrong.

Does the purpose
Burning data files is quite handy with this program. It also allows you to re-use unfilled cds via multi-session option. To deal and burn audio files with deep burner gave me some difficulties and copying cd to cd requires the pro version. For data files, I always use this program. For audio and video files, I prefer nero. thumbs up!

This new version rocks!
The old version of Deepburner messed up 7 Sony CD's by throwing an error before the burning got done. "It sucked"-- I deleted it, and got this new version, and am very pleased. I am running XP Pro and Deepburner out does my old Nero 100%. If the free version does this good, I dont see how the pro version could out do it. Thanks guys for giving us the free Deepburner.

Locks up windows explorer in win98 se
I have tried a variety of other CD burning programs before trying Deep Burner. I want to burn multisession discs to back up data as I complete it, mission critical data. Deep Burner free will do this OK but I found that when I try to delete or move data using Windows Explorer the computer locks up and I get the blue screen of death and the only way out is to turn off the computer as it goes into an endless loop. Three times I formatted the hard drive and just loaded a clean version of Win98 SE and it was OK. I then loaded Deep Burner and the trouble started again. I get the message Explorer.exe caused a fault in Gdi.exe I'm using version V1.6.0.198 of Deep Burner.

Works well ...
This program work well, and is far more reliable than say using the built-in Windows burner. One thing to take note is that you should never burn a CD or DVD at max speed, because it probably will NOT work, you have to take into account both the maximum burning speed of the disk and the drive; there were a few times when this program would not burn a disk ... and this is the reason why. Other than that, the interface is simple and user-friendly, and there are plenty of nice features ... and it's free.

Best dvd-writing experience i've ever had...
Nero is too expensive and Roxio, the tripe that comes with most burners, is so awful it boggles the mind. I needed a program that could successfully burn data DVDs, and DeepBurner basically did what I needed it to do: which, after using Roxio, is nothing short of miraculous. It took a little under 2 hrs. to burn a DVD+R (no multisession, didn't want to complicate things) and there was not one stutter, not one paranoid pause. The completed DVD+R reads as smoothly as it burned. All my DVDs burned with Roxio read slowly and with a lot of strained whirring; this one reads effortlessly and without delay.

The best burner
I like it very much!!! I found no bugs and need only little system resources. Its very fast too. And free of course. At my system (Win XP SP2, Celeron 800), its very lighter and very faster, from Windows internal utility(Roxio's) and Nero's last (eval) version. The help file is very good, to learn you the program's interface. It worths, to give it a try.

One that works
After months of problems with a paid-for, big, complicated program, I found DeepBurner. I've used it for making data CDs (so far), and it simply does the job. I had to spend a little time figuring out the interface, but once I did, it is superbly simple and easy to use. It also has no problems with the Sony CDR discs that other burners would not burn on. I'm happy.

Failed to succesully burn a dvd
I grabbed this to replace Roxio. I chose DeepBurner after reading the reviews for several burner programs at Snapfiles. I am not new to burning and have a very good machine. I have burned DVDs with Roxio. I made 2 coasters with this program when I tried to make data DVDs. I could not get it to work and got no productive error messages. It just would not complete a burn. Their support forums are not useful. I uninstalled the software. I rated the Price/Value as Poor even though I am using the freeware version. Even free products are a bad value if they do not work.

Good for data cds, bad for music cds
This is a great program for creating data CDs. The majority of features one would use are there, although disc-to-disc copying is only available in the paid version. However, when it comes to music CDs, I've had nothing but problems. They seem to work fine when played on the computer, but when moving to a CD player I get "corrupt disc" messages. This happens both on my home and car stereos, and both are relatively new models. I've tried virtually every permutation of the settings to correct this, but have so far been unsuccessful. If the music CD issue ever gets resolved, I would actually consider paying for the Pro version. However, as long as I need a second burning utility to create music CDs, I'm sticking with the Free version.

Evaluation of deepburner
Highly recommended. Very easy to download and it is free. Once the installer is downloaded, extremely easy to install. Initially it is not intuitive, but with very little effort, and this from a person who has trouble with practically all software, it is very easy to use, and it works very well. If ROXIO software is frustrating, as I found it to be following installation of Service Pack 2, do yourself a favor and get this program. You will be very pleased.

Goodbye Easy CD Creator
This is FREE? Wow! What a bargain. I've used Easy CD Creator for years so I was used to its flaws and aggravations but the last time it froze my cd tray was enough. I uninstalled it and hunted for a new cd program and found this. Of course, I read all the user reviews. This program is small and amazingly simple. I had three ISO images to burn - bang, bang, bang, and I was done. No fuss - no problem, and fast. This is the way burning CDs was supposed to be.

Get this.
I grabbed this as an emergency replacement for CDBurner XP Pro (see my comments there) and I love it. The interface feels a little unprofessional, but it's easy to navigate (eye candy isn't everything). I had been using commercial products before this, and while DeepBurner doesn't have quite as many features it does have all the important ones. Dialogs and feedback during the burning process are more useful and provide more (and better) information than the major commercial burners. The only cons are that it's difficult to navigate between the various panes when all are maximized, the large project icons take up a little too much room, and the numbers in the info pane of the disk capacity meter aren't explained (probably something to do with true data size and slack space, and the bar graph is more than sufficient anyway). Very nice.

Refuses to accept long file names
I can't get this to burn files with fairly long names. I've downloaded this utility three times from two different sites -- five times, if you count the two attempts with Deep Burner Pro, which states that it Does support long file names. Deep Burner just leaves out all those longer-than-average file names. It's been a long waste of time.

All I wanted was something to make a "data disk" to back up my stuff. This does it. Does it better then that "data disk" junk that comes with "windows xp" (windows xp comes with this roxio or something, it quite often just made the disk useless, had to throw them in the trash). It's not pretty. But it worked for what I wanted it to do. I'm kind of a lame brain and was able to figure out how to use it.
