Browser Add-ons

Smart Protector completely erases your history, cookies, browser cache, typed URLs, AutoComplete, Recent Documents list, Recycle Bin, 3rd party application tracks and more. It allows you to specify which items to clear and which to skip and also define custom file locations to clean. In addition, Smart Protector offers a unique Save/Restore State capability, that allows you to restore the items to a previously saved (clean) state, so that it will not be as obvious that all tracks have recently been erased. Additional features include a Cookie Manager, Home page protection, BossKey (to close all browser windows), automatic cleaning and an optional Stealth Mode.

FlashFavorite allows you to browse downloaded Flash files in your Temporary Internet Files and the currently open web page. You can preview each Flash file (.swf) with the built-in viewer and optionally rename it and save the Flash clip in a user defined category. FlashFavorite also integrates into the IE toolbar, so you can quickly save a currently playing Flash movie.

FlashCapture is an Internet Explorer add-on, that enables you to save, email, snapshot and categorize Flash (.swf) files in just one click. FlashCapture integrates into the IE right click menu and makes new option available when right-clicking on a Flash item. You can choose to Save as..., Send by Email and more. You can create custom categories and automatically save Flash files into a selected category by using the Save Flash into... menu item. In addition, FlashCapture offers a floating Flash toolbar, similar to the IE image toolbar that offers the same functionality whenever you hover your mouse over a Flash file in IE. To speed things up, you can also use the new tool-button on the IE toolbar to save multiple Flash files at once. It opens a dialog that displays thumbnail version of all Flash items on the page and then allows you to select the ones to be saved to disk.

IE Screenshot Pro enables you to save screenshots of entire web pages and save them to various image formats (GIF, PNG, JPG etc.). You can either capture the viewable screen area, or the entire page, completely scrolled from top to bottom. Furthermore, you can choose to add a stamp to the capture, using a custom text, the current URL or the date. The program also includes an option to send the screenshot by email automatically attaches it to a new message, using your default email program.

SV WebSurfing History allows you to store a visual web surfing history, independently from the Internet Explorer history data. It automatically captures a screenshot of every page you visit, and also indexes the title and URL, so that you can search for specific keywords in them. The history is organized by date, similar to the IE default History feature, and allows you to delete selected items. You can choose from different interface options and use a list style or thumbnail browser, and click on a screenshot to launch the site in the internal or external browser window.

EZ Save Flash is an Internet Explorer add-on that enables you to easily save Flash (.swf) files to your hard drive. It integrates into the IE context menu, and toolbar, and adds new right-click option to save selected or all Flash files on the current page. In addition, it also offers a floating toolbar that appears whenever you hover your mouse over a Flash animation, as well as an IE cache browser to view/save previously browsed Flash animations.

SmElis WebData Extractor enables you to extract and save multimedia items, images, Flash, scripts and other web objects from the page you are currently viewing in your browser. It supports IE, Firefox, Opera and other web browsers and can either save and extract all or only selected items from a page. The available files and data are automatically categorized, so they can be easily browsed.

easyWeb2Pic enables you to quickly save any web page as image file to your hard drive, by simply selecting the newly added option from the Internet Explorer right-click menu. The program captures the entire page, from top to bottom, and saves the output to BMP, JPG, GIF, PNG or TIFF format.

JJSoft IntelliLogin is a password manager with automated login features, that integrates with Internet Explorer and allows you to quickly login to your favorite sites or accounts, without having to type or remember your password. Just double-click the login entry in the Explorer bar and the program will automatically open the URL and log you in. Whenever you perform a new login, you can easily add it to your database directly from your browser by simply clicking a button. All your password data is protected with AES encryption and your personal password. Since the program itself is protected with your master password, other users on the same computer will not be able to access your login information.

easyWebBase enables you to save and organize entire web pages, or only selected portions of a page. The saved pages include all images and other page elements and can be viewed offline, even if the original page no longer exists. The program integrates with Internet Explorer and can be accessed as an Explorer Bar. You can create custom folders to organize your content, and choose to save the entire page, only selected content, or just the URL to the original. Other features include export to MS Word and RTF (Requires Office 2000) or plain text, as well as customizable page headers and more.

Web Replay is browser macro recorder that integrates with the Internet Explorer toolbar and allows you to automate frequent web tasks, as well as login. You can automatically click buttons, navigate to selected pages, fill and submit form data etc. The program is very easy to use, simply click the record button and perform your tasks (e.g login to Hotmail, click your way to the inbox etc.) and when you are done, stop the recording. You can then save these actions and replay them at any time, by simply clicking a button (you can assign custom IE toolbar buttons to launch your macros). In addition, you can also perform simple web site logins with a single click - anytime you reach a login page and enter your login credentials, Web Replay offers to store the login information for you. The next time you visit that page you can complete the login form automatically. Web Replay stores your encrypted information on your local computer, and can also install itself to an USB drive for portable access to your logins.

AdsCleaner is an Internet Explorer add-on, that offers several very useful new features, along with ad and popup blocking. Unlike the name may indicate, AdsCleaner is actually much more than that and offers some great navigational tool in addition to the ad blocking. It automatically keeps track of the web pages you have visited and makes a short info popup available whenever you visit a site or hover your mouse over a link that you have previously visited. You can add a personal comment and assign a rating, which will be displayed with a small screenshot of the site and additional information. In addition, you can clear all tracks of your online activities, translate web page, read web pages aloud, management opened IE, use URL aliases, save your browsing session and more.

Readpal Reader aims to make on-screen reading more pleasant and efficient, by presenting you with a formatted version of a document that is designed for easy reading, using large fonts on a dark background (customizable) and excludes all images. It works with Internet Explorer, Outlook, Outlook Express and MS Word and adds an extra button to the title bar, that you can click on to launch the Readpal version of the current document. You can choose between different layouts, using one or two columns, as well as sentence by sentence display or an auto-skim mode that automatically omits common words thereby compacting the text while maintaining the overall content. We could not see much advantage in using Readpal Reader, in fact web page content was often cluttered with error messages and navigation text, making it actually harder to read. Readpal Reader may be worth a try for visually impaired users, or people that are having problems navigating through documents or emails. Unfortunately the program only works with a few Microsoft applications, so the usability is limited.

Identity Knight enables you to remove sensitive information and private data from the Internet Explorer auto-complete list, without having to delete all your other information. You can select what types of information to search for, customize the patterns to match your data and then review and remove the found items. With Identity Knight you can use the convenience of auto-complete, without sacrificing security.

Belkasoft IE History Extractor is a small utility that can extract your Internet Explorer surf history and save it to a file. You can select the number of days to export, specify the ways the links should be sorted and optionally exclude local or script links. The file can be saved in plain text, HTML, CSV or XML formats. As the name indicates, Belkasoft IE History Extractor only works with Internet Explorer.

IENavigator is a toolbar add-on for Internet Explorer that lets you load multiple pages with a single click, translate them into various languages and also listen to them, using the text-to-speech feature. In addition, you can manage open IE windows, save and load lists of web pages, clean your Internet tracks and even create aliases for your favorite web pages, which allows you to access them by typing a keyword of your choice, rather than the URL (e.g type `news` to access your favorite news site). IENavigator also comes with a built-in popup killer and an option to turn images on or off.

IEToolkit is an add-on for Internet Explorer, that adds a new toolbar with several useful features. It allows you to capture a full size screenshot of an entire web page (no scrolling needed) in .BMP or JPG format; save the complete page to .MHT format (web archive) or to save any element, including Flash, by simply dragging a target over it. IEToolkit can also generate a resource list of page objects that allows you to preview and save selected items. The additional Download Filter option lets you quickly turn on/off Flash, pictures, animations and sounds and a built-in popup killer lets you eliminated annoting ads.

Bookmark Notes enables you to add personal comments to your Internet Explorer Favorites. The program adds a new tab to the Properties dialog of each Favorite, that lets you add an extended note, which is also displayed as popup menu.

Surfpack Startpage allows you to easily build a fully customized start page, that you can use as your browser home page. It can contain all your favorite web resources, including URL links, newsfeeds (RSS,XML), and more. The program offers various ready-to-use options that can be added from the configuration menu, including search tools, horoscopes, current weather conditions for city, and other web modules. It also keeps statistic for your most frequently visited pages, last typed URLs and more. Surfpack Startpage runs on your local computer and replaces your default home page, however you can access your old home page at any time by clicking on a provided link.

Dynamic Toolbar is a customizable Internet Explorer plug-in, that enables web site operators to provide users with a custom branded toolbar, that links to web content on their site. The toolbar can contain a custom logo and links to different resources. The program compiles the required files and creates the HTML pages to perform the online installation in the users browser (can be customized to fit your site). Dynamic Toolbar provides a 3-step wizard that lets you compile the components, however it also requires basic scripting from the user in order to configure the toolbar (this is not done from within the interface). Documentation on how to script the configuration is included. Dynamic Toolbar also comes in a Pro version ($995), which offers additional features, including Multilingual support, Watch URL, search engine linking, custom icons and more.

Remove Toolbar Buddy is a simple but useful utility, that allows you to delete unwanted toolbars and other Internet Explorer modifications such as buttons, right-click menu items and browser helper objects (BHOs). You can also backup your configuration data and roll back all changes at any time. The evaluation version does not allow you to actually remove any items.

ThereIWas offers a unique approach for short term management of recently visited pages and favorite sites. It integrates into the IE toolbar and automatically maintains a list of the web site and pages that you have visited frequently (within . The program automatically removes less frequently used sites and moves most visited pages to the top of the menu. In addition, it organizes them by site, and allows you to pin pages to the top of the menu for quick access.

Netsticker is an advanced bookmark and Favorites manager that lets you associate a variety of information with your entries. This includes graphics, contact information, additional links, login information, site description and more. In addition it supports link collections, MP3 playback (associate with a Favorite entry), form filling, auto-surfing and several other features. It lacks an import function, so if you have existing bookmarks, you`ll need to add them manually. The program offers some unique features, but we found it utterly complicated and confusing to use, with a poorly designed interface.

WhereWasI? is a toolbar for Internet Explorer that keeps track of all the pages you visited, indexes them and allows you to perform high speed searches for any keyword. The program makes it much faster to find a page that you have recently visited - just type in a relevant keyword and it will automatically load the first result, clicking the search button again will load the next result and so on. If you use a very specific search term, it can be a great time saver, however if you are using a broader search term, it may take a lot of page flipping to find the proper result.

ABF Internet Explorer Tools provides a set of useful plug-ins that integrate into Internet Explorer. They include page browser, magnifier bar, an option to force a page refresh and to download all images on a page. ABF Internet Explorer Tools also integrates a popup killer with optional white list. The tool makes a handy addition for IE power users.

TrafficSpeedViewer is a plugin for Internet Explorer (5.0 or higher), that displays inbound and outbound network traffic graphs in the IE toolbar. You can customize the appearance and select the network interface to display. The traffic graphs can be quickly shown or hidden from a newly added toolbar button.

Super IE Toolbar is a toolbar for Internet Explorer, that adds a ton of extra features and tweaks. It can help you to prevent settings from being changed against your will, view/delete your cookies and cache files and more. Other features include options to remove IE context menu items, IE toolbar buttons (remove), Favorites, typed URLs and various Internet options. You can also choose to disable downloads, change of proxy settings, and more. Super IE Toolbar also allows you to view and optionally delete Windows startup entries, view a list of currently running processes and includes a pop-up killer.

It uses a patented filtering technology to analyze each web page decides whether the content is an advertisement or promotion, a friendly cookie or a rogue cookie. You can exclude sites from being filtered, set custom filtering parameters and more. Filtering is based on an internal filtering engine, that can be udated online. You also choose to turn off all banner sized graphics, as well as all offsite graphics, blinking text, background music and more. FilterGate does not require you to set proxy settings in your browser.

AimAtSite is a history search toolbar for Microsoft Internet Explorer. It uses the Windows 2000/XP Indexing Service for indexing content of web pages you are visiting. It then requests this index for the pages you want to find and you receive a result list which contains pages addresses, titles and short abstracts. In comparison with IE`s standard history search tool AimAtSite provides better performance, sorting by rank and date of visit, page abstracts and complex queries.

Internet Security Manager allows you to customize various Internet Explorer settings. You can disable individual menu items and selected tabs in the Internet Options dialog, as well as specific settings from each tab. In addition, you can specify custom directories for Favorites, History, Cookies etc. and specify custom error pages. Among many other tweaks, Internet Security Manager also adds the option to automatically kill pop-up windows. Furthermore, the built-in User Activity Monitor and WebSpy modes allow you to track and log all web sites that are visited and also restrict or limit access to selected sites.

IE Cache Auditor is a simple utility for reviewing of pages and files saved in IE cache. It allows you to view the site structure as well as all pages and images associated with the site, and you can optionally extract the files from the cache. Cache Auditor only works with Internet explorer or IE based browsers.
