Outlook Add-ons

Outlook on the Desktop places a fully functional Microsoft Outlook Calendar directly on your desktop. You can adjust the size, position and transparency of the display, and also switch to your Inbox, Tasks, Contacts or Notes from the tray icon. The calendar displays supports full editing functionalities, as well as drag and drop. You can double-click an item to open it in Outlook, drag and drop of appointments, read and respond to email messages and more. The program also supports multiple monitors.

Topalt EnableDisable is simple and easy to use tool for enabling and disabling Microsoft Office add-ins. It supports Outlook, Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word, allowing you to quickly enable or disable add-ins for all Office products from a single interface.

Advanced Folders Watch allows you to create custom rules, that watch specified folder groups in Microsoft Outlook and Exchange Server, and inform you of new messages that meet your specified criteria. You can choose from a popup notification or a message post in a folder of your choice. The popup notification allows you to further process the message by copying, moving, responding etc. Even though Outlook already offers a rule based system for various tasks, Advanced Folders Watch offers greater flexibility and extended functionality to act upon notifications that are triggered by your filters. Attachment Security for Outlook enables you to unlock certain attachments that are blocked by Outlook. If you encounter a blocked attachment, you will usually be given an error message like "Outlook blocked access to the following potentially unsafe attachment ...", and will not allow you to open the attached file. If you are certain that the file is safe, you can use Attachment Security for Outlook to enable this file type by selecting it from a list.

DeskTask enables you to display your current Outlook tasks and appointments on your desktop. The information is shown in an overlay that integrates with your desktop wallpaper and automatically updates itself to display the latest information. You can customize the appearance and configure how many days of appointments and tasks to include, filter tasks by category and more. Clicking on an item can optionally open it in Outlook. A very useful desktop addition for those that manage their appointments with Outlook.

Advanced Security for Outlook enables you to find out which programs are trying to access Microsoft Outlook and permanently allow or deny access to the program, thereby eliminating security warning dialogs. The next time the same program requests access, the action you choose for this program will be automatically executed, and Outlook will not annoy you with a warning messages (e.g about accessing your Contacts or sending email). HideOE is a small and handy tool, that creates a Tray Icon, and allows you to show and hide Outlook Express by double clicking the icon. It can also be set to automatically hide Outlook Express when you minimize it. (screenshot shows Identical Outlook version)

Lookout is a search add-in for Microsoft Outlook, that allows you to quickly search through the content of your mail folders. Unlike the built-in search feature which tends to be rather slow, Lookout indexes your mail on a regular schedule, and produces almost instant results. It also offers advanced search options that enable you to limit the keyword search to recipients, dates, attachments and more.

K Alert is an add-on for Microsoft Outlook 2003 that can extend the Outlook reminder functionalities by forwarding them to an email address or cell phone number (SMS) if the reminder is not dismissed by the user. If you are out of the office, and an Outlook reminder is activated, you would normally see it when you return - with this program, the reminder can be forwarded to an email or cell phone, so you can be notified immediately. K Alert works with all major cellular providers. An advanced version is available (at a cost), that can also dial and call a specific phone number.

Express ClickYes is a handy tool that runs in the system tray automatically clicks the Yes button for the Outlook Security security prompt, that asks you to confirm mail sending from third party applications. If you are using a program that causes Outlook to generate the prompt, you ll find this tiny tool very handy.

RealAccount is a plug-in for Microsoft Outlook XP and 2003, that enables you to specify a default signature and mail account for each of your mail folders. For example, if you reply, forward or compose an email from your Orders folder, you could automatically use your Sales signature and a specified mail account. The program integrates with the Outlook properties dialog, and all you have to do is right-click on a folder, and specify the desired account and signature.

PocketKnife Peek is an add-on for Microsoft Outlook 2000 or later, that allows you to safely preview HTML messages as text, without having to use the Outlook Reading Pane. It adds a new Peek button to the toolbar, that displays the message content in plain text, as well as tabs for HTML source, Internet Header and Attachments. You can also respond to, forward or delete a messae directly from the Peek dialog. (Note: You need to turn the Outlook Reading Pane off, otherwise it will display the HTML in the preview window automatically.)

iMailLight statistical e-mail management add-on for Outlook, that learns from the content of an email folder, and automatically sorts similar messages into the same folder. The most common use would probably be he automatic filtering of spam into a junk mail folder, however the program is not limited to or even specialized for this purpose. It will learn from whatever the content of the destination folder is, and analyze incoming mail for similarities, and then route it to the matching folder, rather than your inbox.

bxAutoZip is an Add-In for Microsoft Outlook which automatically and independently compresses any files attached to an e-mail message. Thanks to the seamless integration into Outlook, not one single extra step is required to zip the attachments. Optionally, you can also choose to create self-extracting EXE files (useful if the other end does not have a zip utility) and also exclude certain file types from compression.

DateLens is a very handy add-on for MS Outlook that allows you to take a quick peak at your calendar, without having to switch to the full calendar view. It adds a new button to the toolbar that allows you to add a miniature version of your calendar that indicates days with entries and lets you quickly zoom in to get full details, without ever leaving your workspace. If offers different view settings (weekly, monthly daily etc.), just like your full size Outlook calendar, and you cannot only view existing appointments, but also add new ones as well. Additional features include quick search for appointements, holidays and other categories. The program offers a very intuitive interface that is easy to use and navigate - a true time saver for frequent calendar users.

In Outlook Express, if you neglect to select the command "Exit and Log Off Identity", when the next person opens Outlook they will be logged in as you. SecureOutlook gets around this problem, by launching Outlook for you. When it opens Outlook the default login is ignored and also when Outlook closes, the default login is ignored. Thus whenever you enter Outlook Express via SecureOutlook you are greeted with the familiar login Screen

Backing up your Microsoft Outlook information is quicker and easier with the Personal Folders Backup feature. Personal Folders Backup creates backup copies of your .PST files at regular intervals, in Outlook 2000 and later versions, making it easy to keep all of your Outlook folders safely backed up.

KnockOut is a companion product for Microsoft Outlook that lets you see whether Outlook is running or not. You may have noticed that Outlook is often still running in the background, even if you have closed it. It features a tray icon that indicates the current Outlook status and lets you terminate Outlook/Word with a single click. In addition, it offers quick access to creating new email messages, tasks, sticky notes and appointments. The tray menu is customizable and you can also choose to remove the New Mail notification icon. A very small, yet handy and useful utility.

QuickIcons is a simple tool, that lets you create Outlook icons in the QuickLaunch bar (next to the Start button) that allow you to create a new email message, add a task, schedule an appointment etc. from anywhere in Windows with a single click.

Save Mailing List is an Outlook 2000/XP add-in to export contacts and user groups from your Outlook address book into a mailing list. It outputs into a common format that works with most list mailers. After installation, Save Mailing List is available from the Outlook File menu for selected contacts. You can select all or as many contact as you want and output them into a single list.

OE-QuoteFix will extend the functionality of MS Outlook Express in numerous ways! Its main purpose is to modify message composition windows on-the-fly to allow for correct quoting and to change the appearance of your plain-text replies in general. But the second feature is equally practical: OE-QuoteFix can instantly color quoted passages (according to the level of indentation) as you view messages in Outlook Express. Whenever you view a plain-text message in Outlook Express, OE-QuoteFix will color the different levels of quoting automatically. All colors are adjustable.

Outport is a program for exporting data from Outlook 2000 to various formats, including HTML, text, V-card, Rich Text, Outlook item and others. It offers special support for Evolution users (a Unix/Linux organizer). It can be used to export your data for various uses, including HTML copies of your email (e.g for CD archiving) or to transfer data to other calendar or PIM programs. The interface is easy to use and allows you to select the Outlook items to be included in the export operation and to specify a conversion format for each.

HideOutlook is a small and handy tool, that creates a Tray Icon, and allows you to show and hide Outlook by double clicking the icon. It can also be set to automatically hide Outlook when you minimize it.
