Space Facts: Saturn![]() This is a real picture of the planet Saturn. Isn't Saturn a beautiful planet? It was taken on February 9, 2004 when a spacecraft was 43 million miles away from Saturn. The small white dot you see to the left of Saturn is an icy moon called Enceladus. The moon Enceladus is 323 miles across. Saturn is made of up mostly of gas and is 755 times bigger than planet Earth! Saturn is therefore called a gas giant. |
