- "Latch onto Internet, people"
WeFi distances itself from the pack of Internet hot-spot finders by adding a social element to its Wi-Fi-seeking. In addition to detecting and automatically connecting to hot spots, WeFi offers an interactive community for building up a collective Wi-Fi databse, finding friends while out and about, and discovering new contacts. Privacy is always an option, and easy to configure in the settings on WeFi.com. On the hot-spot tab, we like WeFi's clean look, summary of the spots in range, and description of the hot spot's security settings. Kudos also goes to WeFi's verification of hot spots after a laptop is connected. The People tab similarly organizes friends and adds chatting.
More nitty-gritty results filtration would be welcomed on the app interface for users interested in sniffing out a particular class of hot spot.

Version: WeFi 3.1
Pros: The possibility of creating a private peer-to-peer connection over a wireless network sounded nice.
Cons: Crashes on startup, tries to send the crash report using Outlook - which I don't use, WeFi sends Firefox to their website for a final farewell and has another crash report form there. So I try to tell them about it again, only I get an error - browser sent illegal object to apache server, so I give up and just run a registry cleaner after uninstalling. I'm using XP Pro SP2, Firefox 2, and a Netgear WG111T USB adapter

"Finally - a good WiFi manager that also checks for internet connectivity."
Pros: Does what every other WiFi manager I know of doesn't do - test internet connectivity after successfuly connected to a spot.
Loved the community idea - and the friends location feature.
Cons: Downloded version 3.1, could be better if I could actualy see my friends location on a map and not just a description of how far they are in meters.

"No longer auto-connect to wifi after delete"
Cons: Warning this software will mess up you wifi connections if you decide to delete it. It will no longer auto-connect. Company produced a fix, but it did not work. Only way to fix is with a hard reset.

Pros: I love that WeFi helps me find local WiFi users, and hotspots I didn't know about.
Cons: It sometimes conflicts with my native WiFi server.
