The Windows shell-development team did some extra programming and put together a set of tools called Power Toys. If you're a power user, go ahead and try them out, but be forewarned that Power Toys aren't supported by Microsoft because they're not part of Windows. This group of "toys" lets you adjust your Windows user interface, including menu speed, window animation, and Microsoft Internet Explorer. Version 2.1 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

- "Customize Windows XP"
There's no doubt that the freeware Tweak UI is a tool designed for people comfortable and confident with mucking about in the guts of their Windows XP installation. If that's not you, we strongly caution against using this program capriciously.
However, if you're the kind of person who likes to get your hands dirty with XP customizations, read on. Tweak UI can alter most of the routine behaviors of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, but it also can affect some of the more advanced ones, too. From customizing the Alt Tab program switcher to removing the white arrow that appears on shortcut icons, from killing the autoplay feature for specific drives to configuring file and print sharing settings, Tweak UI is a must-have.
The interface is basic, but that's all the program needs. Use the left-nav tree to select settings to tweak, and the subchoices appear in the center pane. Old installation problems have been resolved by a standard self-extracting EXE, making this program not only useful but easy to install. Still, to prevent unwanted or potentially damaging alterations, we recommend that only power users confident in making these changes go ahead and use Tweak UI.

Version: Tweak UI 2.10
"Pointless and messed up my registry"
Pros: Puts stuff in one easy place to change some settings. Access's alot of stuff on your PC.
Cons: If you know about computers, you probably already have your PC set-up to the settings you want. As this is all the program told me, that I already had everything set how I wanted it, so I uninstalled it. I use Revo-Uninstaller to uninstall programs and it works great, much like windows add/remove. It still uses the uninstall from the program you are uninstalling. Although it checks for leftover files and such. Anyways, since uninstalling this program, every 30-45 minutes I get 8 error windows at once about Win32 services. Norton, Spyware Terminator, and Ad-Aware can not find anything on my computer, besides the usual tracking cookies (i keep strong security on my PC).

"Not too useful if you have XP Home Edition"
Pros: The few things it can do in Home Edition are easy to do and seem effective.
Cons: First, like one of the other comments posted, I too "lost" the program because it did not install a desktop icon; when I looked using the Start>Programs menu, I could not find "Tweak" shown and only later realized it was under "Power Toys"; there is no help or user's manual which could have told about this issue. Second, there is almost nothing it can do in XP Home Edition that I hadn't done years ago myself; all the really neat tricks are reserved for the higher level versions of XP which I don't have or need.

Pros: Many options are there in a single window which is hassle free and easy to use,so all round a pretty good software
Cons: Options which actually enhance the visualisation could be provided here which is actually not there.
