"Make your own rules"

Don't like Firefox's close button on each tab? Miss the multiple rows of tabs when they exceed the width of your screen? This kick-butt Firefox extension makes tabbed browsing even better than it already is. Tab Mix Plus can change those settings and almost everything else associated with tabs. Use your scroll wheel to browse tabs, or control tab switching via mouse gestures. You can specify where Web pages will open--in the background or the foreground, in a new tab or the current one--based on how they were created: by clicking a link, typing an address, or using the search bar.

You can duplicate a tab, protect it from closing, or merge tabs from several windows. We also like the option that prevents those annoying blank tabs when you download files. Another useful feature is a session manager that restores tabs that were open the last time the browser shut down. We'd like to see an option to view tabs as thumbnails, but nevertheless there's something here for every Firefox user--don't browse without it.

"Extreme features for fully customized tabbed browsing!"

Pros: Should be a default integration into the tab options of Firefox. Tons of options to turn your tab bar into what you want it to be and other just general browsing options.

Pros: I love how it restores sessions when I crash a lot

Cons: It does not tend to restore sessions if you crashed more than 5 times in a row

"Great extension to Firefox!"

Pros: This is must-have extension to Firefox. Tab Mix Plus has many features that are very useful. For instance, it has a session manager that allows you to load the previous tab session if you accidental close the browser or it shuts down. Any user who wants total control over the tabs should definately download this.

Cons: None.

"Complete control of tab functions in Firefox."

Pros: Tab Mix Plus packs a surprising number of tools for managing tabs into one Firefox extension. Among many handy features, Tab Mix Plus includes a button to open new tabs, a Close button on every tab, and a session manager that can undo closed tabs or recover all open tabs if Firefox crashes. The integration with Firefox is so good, some of these features "feel" like standard Firefox tools rather than an add-on.

Cons: Tab Mix Plus has no major cons.
