In addition to the Baby Clothes Swatch Blank Book, here is another innovative way to archive those most worn (but beloved) items of your child's clothing.
Using the X-Acto knife, make room in the binding by cutting out about five pages at a time at semi-regular intervals. (Don't try to cut much more than that at once; it gets too difficult.) But be sure to leave plenty of pages intact for your swatches. Here's how to cut efficiently: Place the cutting surface beneath the pages. Hold the straightedge in the spine (gully) and using the X-Acto knife, cut the pages against the straightedge, pressing into the cutting surface.
Arrange the swatches of your favorite clothing in sequence. Measure or eyeball each swatch to the size you want on the page, then cut with pinking shears to prevent unraveling.
Cut double-sided tape to fit each swatch. For larger pieces, use a top and bottom strip. For small pieces, one strip down the middle is fine. Remove the protective backing from the tape and press the fabric into the book.
Write your memories on the name tags. Mount them next to each swatch, or wherever you choose.
