2. Cooking Directions

  1. Place eggs in a saucepan, and cover with cold water. Bring water to a boil and immediately remove from heat. Cover, and let eggs stand in hot water for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from hot water, and cool. To cool more quickly, rinse eggs under cold running water.
  2. Meanwhile, place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Alternatively, wrap bacon in paper towels and cook in the microwave for about 1 minute per slice. Crumble and set aside.
  3. Peel the hard-cooked eggs, and cut in half lengthwise. Remove yolks to a small bowl. Mash egg yolks with mayonnaise, crumbled bacon and cheese. Stir in mustard. Fill egg white halves with the yolk mixture and refrigerate until serving.

Yield: 12 servings

3. Still Hungry?

These deviled eggs include bacon and shredded cheddar cheese. Better than your ordinary deviled eggs.

Drop the cheese, use more crispy bacon and a little prepared horseradish! YUM YUM!

  • Good for Easter

This is a delicious recipe, however, the mayonnaise can be cut to half that amout, and add a little more mustard to reduce the fat quality. I have found using less mayonnaise does make it a bit dryer, but a half of a cup of 12 eggs is way too much.

  • kinda like moms

i like the idea of cheese, my mom makes hers with extra crisp bacon, and lots of mayo. i have tried to use less mayo, and i like to leave the yolk a little chunky, for added texture. i dont mind all the extra calories since i usually only make them during the holidays, and those are the days to splurge a little.

  • A nice change, but not better than

These deviled eggs are very rich and heavy. They were a nice change, but not a replacement for the "classic" recipe. I might make them again some day.
