Comcast and Gatorade to work on programming
Comcast Corp., the biggest U.S. cable-television provider, and PepsiCo Inc.'s Gatorade unit signed an advertising agreement yesterday to develop programming. Gatorade and Comcast's network Exercisetv will create a series of sports-training programs, Philadelphia-based Comcast said. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Comcast, which has about 10 million digital-cable customers with access to on-demand programming, is generating ad sales by working with companies to create shows and channels. Comcast has created on-demand networks this year including a horror channel, with Sony Corp., and Exercisetv to boost advertising sales. Gatorade sports drink and Propel Fitness water will become exclusive sponsors in the sports beverage and water categories for Exercisetv, Comcast said.- Bloomberg News
