Grand Floridian from the Lagoon

This past July we took our children on their first trip to Disney World! We had planned for about 6 months prior to stay at the Contemporary. But changed our plans about 2 weeks before our trip due to construction. We decided to stay at the Grand Floridian. Of course we had read reviews of both resorts but we just couldn't get over the great reviews we had heard about the Grand Floridian. When we finally arrived it was just that.. GRAND!! it's such a beautiful resort. The staff was more than helpful. Since we had arrived a bit early our intended room was not ready. The staff saw that we were tired from our travel and immediately found a room that was comparable to the one we had booked and without waiting put us in a beautiful room. The room was spacious, comfortable and had a great view of the wedding pavilion and lagoon. We loved it!! We especially loved taking the fairy to the Magic Kingdom. What made it even better was the night we stayed in and played at the pool. as our kids swam they suddenly saw fireworks overhead!! We could see the Magic Kingdoms fire works from where we were at the pool. It was very magical for our kids! The Grand Floridian has great atmosphere and is such a beautiful oasis from the parks. We stayed for 6 nights but could have stayed forever! It certainly is Grand!
The Grand Floridian has great amenities. We actually used the kids club for baby sitting one night and went out for a romantic dinner. The kids loved it! They fed them and they had fun activities for them to play plus they made friends with other kids.

My wife says we would join the Disney Vacation Club only if we could stay at the Grand Floridian! It was a very memorable trip for us! Our first but definitely not our last!
