Do you involve your kids in planning your road trip? Its a great teaching opportunity, allowing them to see the route on the map, decide where to take rest breaks, figuring out the approximate times, choosing snacks to take along. How do you involve your family in planning for your trip? Not acceptable?
Unless we want to stop at every McDonalds Playland we see, I don't think there's much my two-year-old can add to the discussion just yet. But it is a good idea to file away for when he's older.

Hey, so what's wrong with McDonald's Playland. I've spent many a happy hour cavorting there! LOL! Not acceptable?

When my kids were still living at home, we took a number of trips, but we never thought about having the kids help plan the trip. When we'd go to Six Flags, we'd give them the lead, but regarding the maps and other things, we didn't. It's a great idea, and I wish I had thought about it then. Not acceptable?
